Katelyn Jetelina @kkjetelina.bsky.social · 20/02/2025ACIP—the external CDC advisory committee for US vaccine policy—is not meeting next week, as scheduled. This is a big deal; Americans rely on up-to-date information about eff. and safety of vaccines to make evidence-based decisions. We don’t know motivation, but this is why I’m getting nervous… 516454

Jami Alene @jamialene.bsky.social · 20/02/2025This is bad news, fear we are rapidly entering the FO portion of GOP and Senator Cassidy’s FA game. Forgot to check if MMWR appeared, and if it had measles, tb, bird flu updates. 041
Katelyn Jetelina @kkjetelina.bsky.social · 20/02/20251. This is RFK Jrs first week as HHS sec, who has a long history of anti-vax views. 2. HHS says the ACIP meeting delay is to allow for public comment. This *is* required by law. But HHS has had since Feb 3 to open for public comment. It’s still not open. 25311
Kenny Lin, MD, MPH @kennylinafp.bsky.social · 20/02/2025Not hard to guess the motivation, I'm afraid. RFK Jr. says he will replace ACIP members with "conflicts of interest" (however he defines this) with people who are open to re-asking exhaustively studied questions such as "does MMR vaccine cause autism?" i.e. vaccine skeptics / deniers. 050
