The flip side is that annual training costs will go up. A training run that may have taken 2 months previously will now take 2 to 3 weeks. So providers will do more runs and increase parameter size. Anthropic currently release incremental model updates every 2 months. That will become monthly.

The newer models will most likely be more capable, be more efficient, with inference on a more efficient platform. Overall training costs will increase as we'll see a 2x to 3x increase in the number of training runs per year, though individual runs may be cheaper.

Vera Rubin platforms are due in 2nd half of the year. We'll probably see new models trained on it in December/January. I predict we'll see 2027 Haiku level models and OSS equivalents performing at Opus 4.7 levels, and a 2027 Opus model performing beyond current Mythos capability.
