Aaans a preview of my second contribution :) A story about little Yae (my Tav) observing his genderfluid parents and deciding to explore his own identity #BG3 #BaldursGate3 #BG3Fanfiction #BG3Tav #YaeOfEvereska #XanOfEvereska #KirianTheWitch #CandlesWriting #BG3Queer #cotg2

A preview of a story for the Colours of the Gate fanzine, which reads:

Unlike Xan, Ki seemed to always fluctuate at least a little; eir gender was like gentle, constant ebbs and flows of water guided by natural cycles. Maybe that’s why ey used eir very own pronouns; Yae didn’t know anyone else who was an ey. He knew a lot of shes, and a lot of hes, and a fair share of theys. It must have been nice, having such a little, inconspicuous word all to emself.

Yae wondered if he would also change like his parents. Wake up as a girl? Feel no gender at all, as Ki sometimes described it? Aunt Avalea called it “inheriting”.

“You have Xan’s hair, and your face and eyes are Kirian’s,” she’d told him once.

The matter needed exploration, he decided. A scholarly approach, as one of Xan’s books called it.
