Some fall foliage around Cushman Lake at the Tanana Lakes Recreation Area in Fairbanks, taken shortly after the fiery sunset a couple of nights ago. Check out more of my recent photos here: photos.lwpetersen.com/Recent-Photos #alaska #fall #autumn #sunset

A quiet lake at dusk under a broad, cloud-covered sky, with a low band of soft orange and pink light glowing along the horizon where the sun has just set. Dark spruce and autumn-yellow trees line the far shore and reflect, along with the sky's color, in the still water. In the foreground, tall golden marsh grasses rise out of the shallow, reflective water of a wetland edge. The overall mood is calm and muted, in cool blues and grays warmed by the fading light.
