If your parents:

- failed to notice, validate, or respond to your feelings as a child (emotional neglect)
- forced you to take on adult responsibilities or act as their emotional caretaker (parentification)
- blurred personal boundaries, treating you as an extension of them rather than an individual (enmeshment)
- only showed affection when you achieved success or conformed to strict expectations (conditional love)
- invalidated your reality by telling you your perceptions or memories were wrong (gaslighting)
- constantly judged your flaws under the guise of "helping you improve" (hyper-criticism)

You experienced child abuse.
