Ben Gracewood @ben.gracewood.nz · 10/08/2026Recommend me some books for long plane trips? My book-reading brain is crap and my level is Dungeon Crawler Carl. Prior to that I did enjoy Ted Chiang’s short stories and John Scalzi’s old man’s war series. Hard-ish Sci-fi preferred. 32111 0
Sana @bigshika.com · 10/08/2026Maybe Project Hail Mary, since the movie is out? the book is a lot more science-heavy, but still light and fun The Red Rising series might be up your alley too - once you get past the slightly Hunger Games-y first book, it’s all space opera and violent revolutions on Mars 110 0
Sana @bigshika.com · 10/08/2026if you’re into Star Wars at all, i really enjoyed the Star Wars: From A Certain Point of View books. they’re short story collections by a variety of authors each written from the perspective of a minor character e.g the HR complaint from the guy getting force choked by Vader 000 0
