I just got yet another message like this. I've received similar messages from friends in Canada, Australia, and throughout Europe. Musk and Trump are destroying tourism as well as our democracy and government's functioning. "Sorry. I cancelled all my US trips today."

Had to convince some friends to cancel their US trips to make sure they weren't tortured or targeted. Wonder what this country will look like in 30 years

I was working as a bartender at an airport and had scrimped and saved up a nice nest egg to go to grad school. When the first Gulf War hit, the airport was dead - I was laid off, with about a third of the other people working restaurants and concessions. Took me six months to find another job.

Two sets of Canadian musicians were recently in the US. Friends in the northeast had no issues. Band 2 rented an US car, touring southwest got pulled over for a minor issue. Showing CA passports, they got split, car/bags checked for narcotics, and had to answer: “Is the US better than Canada?”

I support people who are canceling US travel. If you have the time, I request that you take it a step further and let the tourism organizations in the US that you are canceling and why. If they hear enough from travelers canceling in protest, I'm hoping they start contacting govt officials
