Happy October! The most common #LaboursOfTheMonth was sowing seeds. This fellow is rather earlier than our usual 15th C manuscripts but we liked his attitude. That frame can hardly contain him! (MS N.19, f. 4r) #Medieval #MedievalSky

Painting of a man in a medieval manuscript. Text with notes can be seen on the left. He is surrounded by a gold frame that fits around him, rather than him fitting inside the frame. Indeed, one foot steps on the gold frame. He hold a basket which is hung around his neck. His right arm is off to his side with his hand cupped. He probably holds seeds he is about to toss.
