Edgar Allen Poe's 1849 unfinished fragment "The Lighthouse" was the last thing he wrote. Dozens if not hundreds of authors have finished it posthumously for him. I suspect it could be one of those as the premise sounds correct. Several movies including Robert Eggers The Lighthouse owe a bit to Poe.
