Interesting reflection on the removal of the Kirkgate benches by Connor Robertson. What did it signify and why does it matter? "The benches are back, but the battle for the right to the city continues."

It's an interesting time in Leith regards its gentrification. Just along the road on GJS at the same time as the benches were going, one of the hold out "old man pubs" re-opened as some sort of 1970s working man's club theme bar - but without the cheap beer and clouds of smoke.
