Best butter tarts, other than my late mother’s, were the Hot Oven Bakery in Cloverdale Mall in Toronto. They used to have a big chunk of their display just for butter tarts. Mall is gone. There are supposed successors to the bakery in west end but they don’t make a big deal about their butter tarts
