Cat in the Sun. Ca. 1950. collections.tepapa.govt.nz/object/40452

Lithograph that looks like a very refined charcoal and chalk drawing in shades of black, grey, and white on warm manilla paper. It depicts a happy shorthaired tuxedo tabby lying in the sun, rolled halfway onto its back to expose the fluffy white belly. This medium is perfect for showing off the subtle depth and beauty in the coat pattern of the "ordinary" tabby, how the stripes and swirls, highlights and shading of it accentuate and decorate the form so perfectly.
