The murder of Alexei Navalny wasn't the nail in Russia's coffin. That nail was driven long ago.
The Russian people chose to accept and ignore everything they saw in favor of a quieter or safer life, perhaps a bit more financial stability in the short term.
Navalny's death is just the postscript.
