First: I like your work, a lot. Now, about this, mmm, I can see why people (NT) may think that. But knowing your content, I would guess they misunderstood why you talk/do things in a certain way. So, I would see those words as compliments.

So the thing about neurotypicals is that some of them think that using exact and precise language is showmanship. Part of the reason is that they are much more "community" orriented and my guess is that when you use specific language, you show you aren't part of their usual community.
