I think the primary reason for Hegseth's pledge is that 🍄rump isn't keen on alcohol. It's not a moral stance, simply because he lacks a moral compass altogether. I think he has the palate of a toddler (McDonalds & well-done steak with ketchup for example) and to him, alcohol tastes "yucky".
