I made the jump from D&D to PF about 1.5 years ago. It is a big jump, but I took it slow with my group with small-stakes adventures. I started with one of their PF Society adventures, then ran the Beginner Box, and then Rusthenge (TPK'd in that one). Now we are doing Kingmaker for the long haul.

Don't go in expecting to know every rule - there are WAAAAAAAY too many to memorize. Have a general feel for it, be clear that you will have to look things up as yoi go, and it should go well. Alternatively, if you want D&D without the WotC, Kobold Press' Tales of the Valiant is 95% the same.

On the same note of PF and rules, I play digitally with my group, but I also have a GM screen with magnet rules for the game that I set up because it helps organize quick info references. Archives of Nethysis is also a key tool for quick rule checking, that is worth bookmarking.

A gm screen with rule information for pathfinder

And the 5% difference I feel is an improvement overall. Their monsters' designs are much more fun and exciting, and I feel they are more creative with the character class designs too
