✊🏼 Civil rights leader & Congressman John Lewis encouraged people to get into GOOD TROUBLE — necessary, nonviolent action to fight injustice. We continue his mission by advocating for civil rights, voting rights, & social justice, & aim to carry forward his spirit of commitment & courageous activism.

The most effective nonviolent strategy for defeating an authoritarian regime is fostering division among its leaders and supporters. "Whichever side...is able to divide the opponent from its main pillars of support will ultimately succeed." So perhaps we should focus on doing that?

"...our main point is that regimes (like opposition movements) are not monolithic actors; rather, they are propped up by pillars made up of individuals whose loyalties are malleable and shifting. Whichever side (regime or opposition) is able to divide the opponent from its main pillars of support will ultimately succeed. And nonviolent campaigns have historically had an advantage over violent campaigns in this regard."
