If I'm dehydrated like for surgery prep it makes it extremely difficult for them to correctly place an iv or even find a vein to do so. When I had an OR hysteroscopy I had to have the IV placed IN MY FOOT because they stuck me NINE TIMES in the arms. Happens every time I need iv or bloodwork.
