Guardian do better! Both face masks pictured are useless against flu and covid, one providing inadequate filtration, and both being poorly fitted.

The article itself actually seems okay. It includes a graphic that shows a well-fitted FFP2 mask. The second headline image is poor, yes. And the headline uses needlessly confusing terms like "respirator". I suspect the headline text & photos were chosen by someone other than the article's author.

I see people wearing masks low on their noses, not fitted, and I understand it because then you can breathe. Pictures like this reinforce the belief that this counts as masking. Lots of people will notice the picture and not read the article. I'm just so tired.

The graphic might show poorer fit on our left than on the right (or a very thick mask), so it isn't perfect. But the arrowed phrase helps override that.
