I'd be on board with, like, an opera adaptation of the story of Turin. Beren & Luthien would be terrific as a ballet. But yeah, the Silmarillion does not want to be a movie, or even a series of movies. Could we please just not.
@monsterteatime.bsky.socialLook, I love The Silmarillion but no. You really can't adapt it to film without making massive changes because it wasn't written in any way to be filmed. There's virtually no dialog. It's both biblical and like an oral fireside epic.
