I'm a big physical media guy. I've been lugging portions of my DVD collection around for the last 24 years. I have stacks of PS3 and PS4 games I've yet to play, and an unopened PS5. Especially disappointed Sony, who got many on the DVD (and then Blu-Ray) train will no longer make physical discs.

Pretty sure I'm done buying games once the last disc is made, and even more certain used games will become more expensive and more inaccessible for those like me who don't want to go all digital. Anti-consumer/user behavior is everywhere, in all industries.

I don’t play games at all, but if I was, I’d only be for physical media and I can’t imagine that’s an insignificant demographic. This feels like it could go down as an industry-historic blunder

My amend to this as anime fan is looool Discotek is booming. Media OCD was able to acquire Animego. There’s money on the table. But short term goals are good I guess?
