My daughter, Hope, just told me some kids in her neighborhood (a small 99.5% White town in Upstate NY where she wants to live) used to call her "The Black Man's Daughter" - but said they failed at insulting her because "What's wrong with being a Black man's daughter?" 🩷 #BlackSky And that's amazing of her (even though I had to let her know that that was still racism because it was all about her skin color they would tease her about, and nothing else). She even told her grandparents about it at the time rather than keeping it to herself, which is also a ⭐️ #BlackSky
