"Mount Rashúr," an illustration I did for Feral Flame, which comes out November 11. This one will be cropped vertically in the books (sad!), but you get to see the full uncropped painting. #NossSaga #Illustration

Mount Rashúr rises in twin peaks, split at its center by a mile-wide column of vines that stretches to form the dendritic bright sky of the Bighorn Dome. The monumental volcanic mountain is steep and sharp, holding little snow despite its height. The mountainous landscape around it is verdant and full of rivers, with more vine columns rising to hold up the domed sky.

I painted this beast at 10,000 pixels, so there's quite a lot of detail, but it is still very painterly up close. I used @maxulichney.bsky.social's oil brushes almost entirely for this. It's a new style you'll see often in other illustrations in Book 4.

Crop of the distant vine columns reaching up to the bright sky, with some snowy mountains in the foreground.

Crop of the central split mountain and glowing vine column that splits it. It's very painterly, with a canvas texture through the entire piece.
