I recently got the library bug again. I had stopped going after Hurricane Harvey absolutely destroyed our local branch, and once a habit is lost, it's hard to pick up again. :P Anyhow, my favorite new book so far is The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennet. Incredible mystery and worldbuilding!

I finished "Witchmark" by C.L. Polk last night. I enjoyed this one, though I found the mystery element fairly predictable. (Obvious Bad Guy is Obvious Bad Guy). I thought the world building was excellent, and the romance element was gentle and lovely.

Wichmark's cover; vividly blue with the silhouette of a man riding a bicycle between two eerie trees, with the "shadows" of two walking people extending from the bicycle's tires.

I also recently read "Three Parts Dead" by Max Gladstone. This is a book that does the "page-turner" trick of constantly breaking scenes and POVs every couple of pages. I generally don't mind switching POVs, but . . .

Cover of Three Parts Dead by Max Gladstone. Features a young Black woman on the cover, shining magic radiating from her forearms, city street filled with people behind her.

The sequel is even better.
