This was the one that landed in my hands in the '80s—my first computer! The Timex Sinclair 1000 (2K RAM), manufactured in Portugal, a modified version of the ZX81 (1K RAM), born from the joint venture between TIMEX and Sinclair.
The ‘all-powerful’ machine to which I asked to draw the planet Saturn—much like a ChatGPT-style request. I forgot that we were in 1982 and that computers of the time weren’t quite ready for such requests. We still had to wait a few good decades and put in a lot of work with machine code.
Fun fact: Sinclair made some bold claims in its advertising about the potential applications of the ZX81 at the time, the most famous being its alleged ability to control a nuclear power plant! An absurd claim, but still a daring one.
