I’m reading the part in Jane Mayer’s Dark Money where during the 1940s the wealthy plotted to keep their money out of the tax collector’s reach and thinking we need to reinvent the tax collector as a badass hero who makes billionaires pay their fair share of taxes.

Graphic I made that reinvents the black and white movie poster of the 1973 movie The Exorcist as a poster about a fictional movie called The Tax Collector. Beneath the pretend purple title is a pretend tag line that reads, “Billionaires who don’t pay their fair share of taxes are about to get their assets repossessed.” Everything else is the same, which is a priest standing in the dark outside of a house. He’s about to enter to help a possessed girl. A bright light shines from an upstairs window, putting the priest’s figure in silhouette. In this graphic, the priest represents the pretend movie’s heroic tax collector.
