I feel like the weird vibes this year were kind of unavoidable. Carnival is a spiritual antenna. It picks up everything in the air and condenses it into a street pageant. The good and the not so good always filter through that. But you have to feel it all in order to process it. 1/4

There’s this scene in “Empire Strikes Back” where Luke asks what’s in the creepy cave and Yoda tells him, “Only what you take with you.” I’ve always felt that gets you about halfway in regards to MG. Your mentality matters, but the vibes are real. Who you interact with and how will tell the tale.

This was a year of transitions in so many ways. Large and small. Certainly in my personal life that has been true. But it's also been the case for the city and the larger world. Shifting terrain. Uncertainty. It is fitting that it expresses through Carnival also. 2/4
