Tuesday, February 13, 2026 - Tribute to our comrade Olier Kendal Breizh, who left to fight for the revolution in Rojava, who fought Daesh, and who fell under Turkish bombs. (EN)

On this day, February 10, we pay tribute to Kendal Breizh (Olivier, known as Olier Le Clainche), who died in combat eight years ago to the day. Olier was originally from Malestroit and gave his life for the struggle, in keeping with his political convictions.

An anti-fascist, he joined the YPG (People's Protection Units) to support the Rojava Revolution and fight Daesh.
After participating in the liberation of the cities of Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, he was killed in Turkish bombing in the Afrin region.

Kurdistan is the story of a nomadic people who found themselves divided between Iran, Turkey, Syria, and Iraq. Victims of attempts at assimilation, they saw their culture and languages persecuted by these countries and their authoritarian leaders. At the end of the First World War, the Treaty of Sèvres (1920) gave rise to the idea of recognizing local autonomy for the Kurdish people.
