Greens want a different approach: • Prioritising health and true recovery: Arresting people doesn’t cure addiction but effective treatment does. ⬇️

UK drug related deaths have risen for 14 consecutive years. We all want the same thing; safer streets, less crime and protecting vulnerable people. But, despite the hard work of the police, the current system is broken. We have the highest rate of drug related deaths in Europe. We can't go on like this. • Safer streets: Bringing support for users into medical centres takes drugs off the streets. • Supporting the police: Putting health first allows the police to focus on organised and violent crime.

Many people tell me their concerns about harmful drug use and drug dealing. Everyone can see the current system is failing. Only Greens offer a path to recovery that improves health and reduces crime.
