I've started seeing some people say they're now afraid of reposting / sharing their and others' art now because of few posts springing up about being annoyed by constant reposts You shouldn't feel silenced for trying to rebuild/build up. I feel this leans bit more to spacing and pacing things more.

Thanks for sharing your habits and opinion on that. It definitely gives more confidence to knowing a good way of making work more visible and not feeling like it's been overdone or anything.

I repost all the time even in Twitter and my personal telegram. It’s awesome when people say. ‘Omg this is my fave pic of X Y Z’ and i think people who commission me like seeing their art pop up again. I have new people following me all the time and they’ve not seen my art from years ago.

I 100% agree with this, reposting your old art can be fun like seeing it again for the first time and bringing to light the artists who helped make it possible. It shouldn't be something your worried your gonna be judged for

I feel like people being annoyed with reposts are an odd bunch with nothing to do with their lives. We spent years dealing with algorithmic suppression that we HAD to repost art just to rebuild.

I've found so many amazing artists thanks to them reposting their art and people reposting it, it's one of the biggest features with platforms like this, people should just turn off reposts if they don't like them. I'm still debating if I should post my older art I did. changed name and style a lot

I think this is more on Bluesky, since there are a few posts where like 4 different people reposted and I see it 4 different times... or like just randomly reposting an entire gallery again? It's difficult on a new platform.

It definitely boils down to a quantity of repost issues, as the complaints seem more stemmed at reposting entire galleries or flooding causing long strings of repost. I try to be considerate in reposting maybe 4-5 pics and spacing it out. New art posted in the morning gets reposted at night, etc.

You actually have settings that allow you to turn off reposts and replies. No need for a feed.

I’m sure people that post those types of messages to their followers follow a BUNCH of people. In some cases… I understand, but there’s literally custom feeds that can fix their issues on that! Besides… all my reposts are ass anyway 🍑

Nobody should be afraid of reposting their or other people's stuff, that's how I discover like 80% of the people I follow here. But we do all need to be aware of some limits. For example, daily repost of a dozen of your own posts, at the same time every day, weeks on end, that might be bit much

I pretty much always repost recent posts to keep them alive for until a new piece comes up to make sure it my posts don’t get missed for my followers, and if I feel like it I also repost something older for funsies lol

Honestly even as much as I am someone who feels like there can be a LOT on my feed sometimes, I also know that I prolly shouldn't be scrolling for 5000 years nonstop either. Gotta make use of feeds if i want a quieter feeling, rather than treating it like twitter and only using one
