Popular culture has many elements that appeal to some but not others. I know a lot about pro sports and SF/fantasy, but almost nothing about country music. Some people are the reverse. Almost impossible to follow every field. There’s too much out there for that.

At this point, if someone contends they've never even heard of Vince Staples or Blackberry Marmalade, it may say more about the listener than the song. It's pretty difficult to still claim total ignorance. Perhaps there is a deeper reason.
