i imagine most of the perspective there just comes from people who've never played on anything but a console and sharing/reselling game disks is synonymous with owning the game because the disk is all you need as an intuitive link even though that hasn't been true since the fucking xbox 360

console players have been getting fucked for ages tbf, but (and this is gonna be a hot take to some) if you're still buying a console in the big 26 you're just begging for a pegging. there's no reason to buy a console that isn't a switch anymore, and i think that's also why the switch sells so well

you can get by without playing nintendo games perfectly fine, they're a niche of their own. any other game runs on a pc just fine, and those are comparably priced to a console anyway, even despite terrible ram pricing
