in theory I can get infinite barrel replacements for my beloved aqua eco-t sent to me for the $6 cost of shipping each time, but man, that adds up! and for $50 I want a functional writing tool, not a constant chore paging some pen people like @niais.bsky.social and perhaps @carlbergstrom.com 🙂‍↕️🖋️

The cracking thing is unfortunately something TWSBI is notorious for. It's only happened to me once over four Ecos/Eco-Ts and one Vac mini, and that after some years, but it's frequent enough that some people won't touch the brand.

sorry to jump in but what causes the cracking? just over tightening the cap or something? (i have several ecos so i want to be careful about it if i can)

In terms of nice demonstrator piston fillers, I hear great things about the Asvine p36. PenBBS also makes some really nice demonstrators in both vacuum and piston fillers. (I like pistons better, personally.) For cheaper, it's hard to beat the Moonman/Majohn M2 or Wancai Mini.
