The government's AI policy is good, it's policy process here is good. Wanting to ban evil rooms full of servers because of what America does is like wanting to ban Australian agriculture because American agriculture is currently giving them all explosive diarrhea

I don’t fully understand the arguments from all angles. I’m stuck at will mass AI adoption improve life for people? Fewer work hours? More fulfilling lives? Or will it simply add another cog in our frantic Rube Goldberg rat race existence? Will not adopting make it even worse?

It'll just be another thing, like the microchip, the mobile telephone, the internet, instant financial transactions, efficient solar power etc - it'll destroy some existing stuff and create some new stuff and the size of the difference will depend on how we use it.
