Hello from the top of the Empire State Building, where I am running WNYC's overnight programming from our little backup studio in the sky while Con Ed is doing work at our main studio downtown. #WNYC #radio #NYC

A photo of the view out the window of WNYC's transmitter room at the top of the Empire State Building, looking downtown towards lower Manhattan, all lit up on a Friday night. One World Trade Center is one of the many landmarks visible in the distance.

A small radio mixing console sits on a desk, with a computer monitor above it which shows the Zetta radio automation system running. A microphone and a laptop running another audio program are also on the desk. Behind all that is a window looking out on lower Manhattan.

With a view like that, why would you broadcast from anywhere else?
