🌴 Scott Zona, Ph.D. 🌴 @scottzona.bsky.social · 05/08/2026In the tropics & subtropics, drought-deciduous flowering trees are especially showy because they flower before the leaves emerge, i.e., they are protoanthous. Prof Ros Gleadow FAA 💙💚 @rgleadow.bsky.social · 05/08/2026I love these trees. Beautiful avenues in Pretoria RSA and Sydney, Australia in November and Toowoomba QLD even earlier, Melbourne is cooler so it’s later into summer - more like January 140
elizagogo @elizagogo.bsky.social · 05/08/2026The streets of Mexico City also are full of flowering jacarandas in spring. They were planted in 1920 inspired by the friendship between the US and Japan and the cherry trees in Washington DC. 030
