According to a press release, one segment on YTV's old "Vortex" programming block had the host go to Japan to interview Medabot's creator, Horuma Rin! (Jury's out on whether or not "National hero" is a smidge overselling it) Unfortunately, the segment has yet to be found.

Relevant text: "Throughout the programming event, Vortex host Stephanie reveals the latest in Medabots. In addition, fans will not want to miss an interview with Manga artist, Horuma Rin, the creator of the Medabots characters and one of Japan's national heroes. Zone host, Sugar, tracked him down while in Japan last fall learning all about animé. During the segments he chats about Medabots' popularity around the world."
