Haiti is the singular instance of nationstate arising out of a slave rebellion. In hopes of preventing similar outcomes, rich white men have spent centuries ensuring 'Haiti' is a synonym for hell on earth.
The only way the know they're "winning" is if all the rest of us are suffering.
