I use Instacart as a disabled person. I have caught the price difference myself. I watch out for the instore price on the app. What pisses me off is using the restaurant side of the app and they add your tip in with the taxes too. I change it though. Why am I tipping on my taxed amount?

If the store is running a Manager’s Special on a certain product, the instacart customer does not receive that deal. For instance, if eggs have been marked down from 6.99 to 1.99, due to an overage of those eggs, the instacart customer pays 6.99 for those eggs and instacart pockets the savings.

They have been using their algorithms for years to figure out how little they can pay their “independent contractors” to do the jobs. When I first started in 2018, a 20 item order paid $20 ($12 base, $.40 per item). Now, it’s 2-3 different customers, 50+ items for as little as $4.

I think the gig economy is one big fat SCAM. Unfortunately it’s all on the WORKERS. The Uber & Lyft drivers are being ripped off.
