Josh Sternberg @joshsternberg.com · 25/03/2026It's quite amazing how much MLB hates its fans. Opening night, two storied teams, only available on ... Netflix. What a giant fuck you to millions of people who love baseball but don't want/need/have Netflix. 342131279

Yxuppi! @yxuppi.myatproto.social · 25/03/2026Those of us whose games on TV are controlled by MLB this year for the first time, as “<teamname>.TV,” have yet to be told the cable channel number that the “<teamname>.TV” will be on. 190
Dennis Yedwab @dennisyedwab.bsky.social · 25/03/2026Say what you will about Bud Selig, at least he liked baseball. Rob Manfred clearly doesn’t. 070

Mr-Write @mr-write.bsky.social · 26/03/2026The NFL regularly does the same. It’s always all about the Benjamins. 020
FunnyTechGuy 💙 @funnytechguy.bsky.social · 26/03/2026I don't follow sports, but I agree. That's fucked up. 000
DocManhattan @d0cmanhattan.bsky.social · 25/03/2026Not a Baseball fan (Unless the Detroit Tigers make the playoffs😏). Saw though, they are now using robot/AI to rule on disputed balls and strikes. Found it laughably interesting that the main gripe players have w it is not that it is imperfect but they have to disclose their true height.😄 010
aspenchef.bsky.social @aspenchef.bsky.social · 26/03/2026MLB greed has slowly killed my interest in baseball. As a lifelong fan, I'll admit that I miss it, but enough is enough. 042
k1p1 @knitlife.bsky.social · 26/03/2026MLB has been dropping the ball on streaming for years now. It's really painful at this point. They could do so much to grow the game with MLB Network and streaming and instead we get three games on each streaming service at random. And fucking blackouts. It's mismanagement but the billionaires dgaf. 010

silverstone @silverstone.bsky.social · 25/03/2026The exact same thing happens to NFL fans, if they lack any of several streaming networks now affiliated with the NFL. It doesn’t seem to concern the NFL that millions of viewers are left out, at least yet. 081

Rob Liguori @robxlii.bsky.social · 25/03/2026The Athletic found that it would cost about $800 to be able to watch a telecast of every Yankees game this season. AnneC @annecw.bsky.social · 25/03/2026I will just say that in a quest to make our cable cost less, we went with a cheaper package that had NO broadcast channels (ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, etc.) We are currently seeking another streaming provider. So I'm not sure how people access broadcast channels any more. 170

Josh Sternberg @joshsternberg.com · 25/03/2026My 8yo wants to go to a Yanks game this year. Nosebleed tickets for a random June Saturday game is $70/pop. So right off the bat (sorry) it's gonna cost $280 just to get in the door. Then there's parking (coming from NJ) + food, and it pushes it close to $400-$500. Price prohibitive to go to a game 109310
