Thank you for the wise words. I really believe that if "legacy" means anything, it's not holding on for dear life but, rather, offering life and support and encouragement to others who carry the torch and pay it forward. I'm so proud that HASTAC has done that more than we could have imagined.

It's such a beautiful parting gift from HASTAC to be a vivid example here, and something people can point to as reassurance and legitimization of a path to a graceful, deliberate wrap-up.

Thank you. The best part: it was interdisciplinary, extra-institutional which meant that, even those writing dissertations in the most stolid and traditional departments at rigid universities used @hastac.bsky.social to legitimate new areas of research and knowledge that would have been invisible.
