Today’s “trade deal” between the UK and US is not about trade – it is about appeasing Trump over tariffs. This deal is not a “win” for Keir Starmer. He has made the UK the first country in the world to capitulate to Trump.

That's all that's left for UK following #Brexit! We voted to become a menu item, instead of being a menu maker. Actually, the deal is a lot better than we could have expected, as US can steamroller UK. Unlike Canada which can hold the line as US is hugely much more dependent on Canada than UK.

My understanding is that no deal was made. It's just a framework to begin negotiating one. Nothing has changed. Trump just needs to look like he made a deal.

About that trade deal. Trump gets to pretend tariffs aren’t a shit show it’s a double win for Starmer who does a ‘deal’ with the devil to fight another devil, Farage who donated impoverished Clactonites cash to Trump, who effed him over, plus Starmer gets to gloss over Brexit.
