I have this idea I call the C-3PO test, which I haven't seen anywhere. Scenario: C3PO exists. Although he is a machine, he easily passes any known test of consciousness or personhood that doesn’t include knowing in advance that he is a machine. He is capable of suffering and sadness.

Sounds like this is less a question about art specifically and more about personhood generally. Discussing whether there is a line which is below personhood but above deserving art feels a bit nitpicky. My gut reaction is “no” though, but I can probably be easily swayed.

Bit tricky isn't it. You probably need a biological body to be considered a person. If your metric is about a level of awareness or ability to feel then presumably some folk with disabilities become non persons? Is a baby not a person?
